PUBLIC NOTICE NO.108 (RE-2007)/2004-2009

NEW DELHI, DATED THE 7th February 2008

In exercise of powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in Handbook of Procedures, Vol. I (RE2005, RE2006 & RE2007):

1. VKGUY Product Code No. 02 of Appendix 37A is modified as under:

   2	02	All items covered by Chapter 4 (excluding 0410) of ITC (HS) and sweet meats commonly known as ‘methai’ (or by any other name) that are covered under sub heading 21069099 of ITC HS Code. Note: This entry shall exclude ‘namkeens’, ‘mixtures’, ‘bhujia’, ‘chabena’ (or by any other name) covered under sub heading 21069099 of ITC HS Code.	1.4.2005

   
   
2. This modification is effective for exports w.e.f 1.4.2005.

Consequently it is clarified that exports of Sweetmeat, commonly known as methai, covered either under ITC HS Code 0403 or ITC HS Code 21069099 are entitled for VKGUY benefits for exports w.e.f 1.4.2005.

This issues in Public interest.
