Notification No. 45/2008-Central Excise
New Delhi, the 6th August, 2008.

G.S.R.----(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 4/2006-Central Excise, dated the 1st March, 2006 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, part II, section 3, sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 94(E) of the same date, namely:-

In the said notification,-

(I) in the Table, after S. No. 50 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely:-

(II) in the ANNEXURE, after condition No.5 and the entries relating thereto, the following condition and entries shall be inserted, namely:-

“5A If produced or processed by the Heavy Water Plant, Manuguru (Andhra Pradesh), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, Heavy Water Plant, Talcher (Orissa), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai and Bhartiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited, a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) for the 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu”.
