Appoints the Chief Commissioners of Customs to act as the Chief Commissioners of Central Excise

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), read with sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Central Excise Rules, 2002, the Central Board of Excise and Customs, constituted under the Central Board of Revenues Act, 1963 (54 of 1963), appoints the Chief Commissioners of Customs to act as the Chief Commissioners of Central Excise for the purpose of constitution of a committee under sub-section (1B) of section 35B of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944).
