Sub: Ban/restriction on export of non-basmati rice – clarification regarding.
Attention is invited to the prohibition imposed on Transitional Arrangements available under Para 1.5 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, vide Notification No.77 dated 7.2.2008, and Para 4 of Notification No.93 dated 1st April, 2008.
- Consequent upon the ban/restriction imposed as above, it is hereby clarified that exports under transitional arrangements as provided under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09 shall not be permitted. This is in force with the issue of Notification No.77 dated 7.2.2008. That is since 7.2.2008, no exports are allowed under transitional arrangements.
- Provisions of Para 9.12 of Hand Book of Procedures Vol. I (RE-2008)/2004-2009, however, shall be applicable. That is, facilities permissible under the same will be permitted.
- This issues with the approval of DGFT.
