Representations
have been received requesting for appropriate classification of the item
�Mefloquine Hcl� which is a life saving drug used as anti-malarial.
2.
The matter has been considered in consultation with Department of
Chemicals and Petrochemicals and keeping in view the molecular structure of the
above-mentioned drug it has been decided that the Mefloquine Hcl is classifiable
under ITS HS Code No. 29333990 and is freely importable as per the policy
indicated against the entry.
3.
This issues with the approval of Director General of Foreign Trade.
