DEPB RATE
Public Notice No. 31 dated 21st August 1998
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 - Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes following amendment in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) (RE-98), 1997-2002:
1. The rates notified in Annexure A to this Public Notice shall cover the shipments made from 1.4.97 to 14.4.98.
2. The rates notified in Annexure B to this Public Notice will form part of Appendix 28A and shall cover the shipments made from 15.4.98.
3. The DEPB rate given at S.No. 91 of Engineering products as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) shall be amended to read as under:

4. The description of the export product as well as DEPB rate at S.No. 1 of Plastic products as given in Annexure to Public Notice No.6 (RE-98) dated 15.4.98 shall be amended to read as under:
1(a): "All kind of metallic/ non metallic writing instrument including gift sets containing any writing instrument" - 21%
1(b): "All kinds of parts/ components of writing instruments metallic/ Non metallic including refills/ Nibs" - 16%
5. The DEPB rates as given against S.No. 151, 185, 193,, 203, 204, 238,348, 444 and 448 of Engineering product as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 6 (RE-98) shall stand deleted.
6. The description of the export product at S.No. 758 of chemical products as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) shall be amended to read as 'Cypermethrin' instead of 'Cypermethrin 10% EC '
7. The description of export product as given at S.No. 728 of Chemicals products as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) dated 15.4.98 and 14(RE-98) dated 5th June, 98 shall be corrected to read as " CIS + Hydroxy Lactam.CIS(+)-2-(-4-Methoxy Phenyl)-3-Hydroxy-2, 3-Dihydro-1,5-Benzothia-zepin-4-(5H)- one".
8. The word 'textile product' shall be added after the specific serial numbers of DEPB rate in serial number 1, 2 and 3 of corrigendum to Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) as given in Public Notice No. 16(RE-98) dated 18th June, 98.
9. The description of export product at S.No. 576 of Engineering product as given in Annexure to Public Notice No. 16(RE-98) dated 18th June 98 shall be corrected to read as under:
"Domestic Sewing machine with standard accessories/ embroidery sewing machine/ Industrial sewing machine/ overlooking sewing machine with or without cover"
10. This issues in public interest.
