Diamond bulk licences - HDCL/ MMTC can import upto 1.5 times of rough diamonds imported in preceding year

In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1), 1997.2002:
1. At the end of Paragraph 8.22, the following shall be added:
"However, for HDCU/ MMTC the value of the bulk licence shall be 1.5 times of the total value of rough diamonds imported by them, against the bulk licence(s), in the preceding licensing year".
This issues in public interest.
