Exemption to specified goods for display or sale in the
�INDEPEX-ASIANA-2000�
Notification

This
notification has been rescinded by notification no. 21 dated 1st
March 2001 of the Govt. of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of
Revenue).
In
exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs
Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is
necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods described in
Schedule annexed hereto, when imported into India for
display or sale in the �INDEPEX-ASIANA-2000�, which is an international
philatelic exhibition to be held at Calcutta from the 7th December
2000 to the 12th December, 2000 organized by the Department of Posts
in the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, from the whole of the
duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the
Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), and from the whole of the additional duty
leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the
condition that an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the
Government of India in the Department of Posts in the Ministry of Communications
certifies that the said goods are required for display or sale in the above said
exhibition.
