Free Import for Earth Quake Relief Operations
Notification No. 49 dated 7th

In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade
(Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the
Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby allows import
of articles intended for donation for the relief and rehabilitation of the
people affected by the Earth Quake in the State of Gujarat, �Freely�,
subject to the conditions specified in Department of Revenue Circular No.
7/2001-Customs dated 27.01.2001. However, the items import of which is
�Prohibited� as per the book titled ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and
Import Items shall not be allowed to be imported.
