Public Notice No. 16 dated 18th June 1998
In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part-II- Section 3 - Sub- section (ii) vide S.O No. 283(E) dated 31-3-97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the credit rates under DEPB scheme in respect of items as given in the Annexure A to this Public Notice. The rates notified under Annexure A shall cover the shipments made from 1-4-97 to 14-4-98.
The rates notified in Annexure B to this Public Notice will form part of Appendix 28A and shall cover the exports made from 15-4-98.
The corrigendum to the Public Notice No. 4 (RE-98)/ 1997-2002 and Public Notice No. 6(RE-98) 1997-2002 dated 15-4-98 shall be effective from 15-4-98 and corrigendum to Public Notice No. 10(RE-98)/ 97-2002 shall be effective from 1-5-98.

Corrigendum to Public Notice No. 4(RE-98)
1. The value cap for calculation of entitlement as given in column 4 against S.No. 476 of Engineering shall be Rs. 40/ - per kgs.
2. The description of export product as given in serial number 473, 474, 501 and 510 of Engineering product notified vide Public Notice No. 4(RE-98) and Public Notice No.10 (RE-98) to be corrected to read as 'rough/ machined'.
*Corrigendum to Public Notice No. 6(RE-98)
1. The value cap for calculation of entitlement as given in column 4 against S.No. 43(a) shall be amended to read as Rs. 300/ - per kgs.
2. The value cap for calculation of entitlement as given in column 4 against S.No. 46 shall be amended to read as Rs. 300/ - per kgs.
3. The value cap for calculation of entitlement as given in column 4 against S.No. 16 shall be amended to read as Rs. 475/ - per piece.
4. The value cap for calculation of entitlement as given in column 4 against S.No. 832 of Chemicals shall be Rs. 450/ - per kgs
5. The word and expression 'with or without embroidery' and/ or 'with or without metallised yarn' shall be added after the description of export product against S.No. 43, 44, 45 and 46 of textile products. However, the value cap for calculation of DEPB entitlement in respect of export product as given in S.No. 44 and 45 of textile product 'with embroidery or with metallised yarn' shall be Rs.300/ - per kgs.
6. The DEPB rate as given against S.No. 216 of Engineering product shall be deleted.
7. The DEPB rate as given in S.No. 619 and 620 of the Chemicals product as given in Public Notice No. 6 (RE-98) shall be corrected as follows:
