Policy Circular No. 46 dated 29th November 1999
Attention is invited to entries relating to Dyes and dyestuff under the Product Group Chemicals as given in Appendix-28A of Handbook (Vol. 1) (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.99).
In a number of cases, it has been observed the description of the Dyes and dyestuff in the Shipping Bill does not exactly matches with the description given in DEPB rate list. Since colour index number is an important feature in the Dyes and dye stuff, it has been decided that in case if the description of dyes and dye stuff in the Shipping Bill does not exactly tally with the description given in the DEPB rate list but broadly tallies with the same, the claim may be passed under the relevant DEPB Serial number provided the colour index (CI) number of the dyes and dye stuff given in the Shipping Bill matches with the CI number in the DEPB rate list.
This issues with the approval of DGFT.
