Jalandhar as a notified port under paragraph 7.19 for Advance Licence
Policy Circular No. 65 dated 15th February 1999
The Department of Revenue has issued notification no, 94/ 97 including Jalandhar as a notified port for the purpose of Advance Licences in terms of paragraph 7.3 and 7.4 of Exim Policy.
Since Jalandhar is not a notified port for DEPB under Customs notification 34/ 97, it could not be mentioned as a port under paragraph 7.19 of Hand Book of Procedures (Vol.1). 1997-2002 since paragraph 7.36 of Hand Book of Procedures automatically covers all ports mentioned in paragraph 7,19 for the purpose of DEPB scheme.
However, it is clarified that Jalandhar is a notified port for the purpose of Advance Licences under Customs notifications and may be treated as a notified port under paragraph 7.19 of Hand Book of Procedures (Vol.1), 1997-2002 for issuance of Advance
Licences.
This issues with the approval of DGFT.
