Custom Notification No. 16 dated 7th
March 2002 (NT) (As amended by Notification No. 37 dated 13th

Notification No. 78 dated 5th December 2002 (NT)}
This notification will come into
effect on and from the 25th day of October 2002.
In
exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs
Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and in supersession of notification of the Government of
India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No.29/97-Customs
(N.T.), dated the 7th July, 1997, the Central Government appoints
the officers mentioned in column (2) of the Table below to be Commissioner of
Customs (Appeals), and such officers shall have the jurisdiction in relation to
an order or decision of the officer subordinate to the officer as mentioned in
the column (3) of the said Table with effect from the date to be notified by
the Central Government in the Official Gazette.
