Port restrictions on import of natural rubber (All items classified under
Exim Head no. 40.01)

Attention is invited to notification no.
41(RE-2001)/ 97-02 dated 19.12.2001, regarding port restrictions on import of
natural rubber. Representations
have been received, seeking clarification regarding applicability of these
provisions on import of natural rubber made by EOUs, units in EPZ and units in
SEZ.
The matter has
been considered and it is clarified that the port restrictions as per the
aforementioned notification shall be applicable on import of natural rubber made
by EOUs and units in EPZ. However, these restrictions shall not be applicable on
import of natural rubber made by units in SEZ.
This issues with
approval of DGFT.
