Public Notice No. 19 dated 11^th June 2001 (As amended by Public Notice no. 25 dated 2^nd July 2001)

In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraphs 4.11 and 11.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31-03-2001), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby lays down following procedures for export of �certified organic products�:

An agricultural product will be allowed to be exported as �Organic Product� only if it is produced, processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by a certifying agency duly accredited by one of the following Accreditation Agencies:

(i)        Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)

(ii)       Coffee Board

(iii)       Spices Board

(iv)       Tea Board

2.      This will be effective from 1^st October 2001.
