Notification No. 05/2012-Central Excise
G.S.R…..(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government,
being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby
makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of
India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue),
No. 23/2003- Central
Excise, dated the 31st March, 2003, published in the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 266 (E),
dated the 31st March, 2003, namely :-
In the said notification, in the TABLE, -
- against serial number 5A, in column (4), for the figure and symbol “10%”,
the figure and symbol “12%” shall be substituted;
- against serial number 6, in column (4), for the figure and symbol “10%”,
the figure and symbol “12%” shall be substituted;
- against serial number 7A, in column (4), for the figure and symbol “10%”,
the figure and symbol “12%” shall be substituted;
- against serial number 8, in column (4), for the figure and symbol “5%”, the
figure and symbol “10%” shall be substituted;

Note. - The principal notification No. 23/2003 – Central Excise, dated the 31st
March, 2003, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section

notification No. 03/2012 – Central Excise, dated the 16th
January, 2012, published vide number G.S.R. 26(E), dated the 16th January, 2012.
