G.S.R. 407(E). � In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Customs Tariff (Identification and Assessment of Sefeguard Duty) Rules, 1997, and in supersession of notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 89/2003-Customs (NT) issued vide No. G.S.R. 838(E) dated the 23rd October, 2003, the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Lakhinder Singh, Chief Commissioner, as the Director General (Safeguards) for the purposes of the said rules.
