NOTIFICATION
S.O. 1630(E).– WHEREAS, the proposal of M/s. Zydus Infrastructure Private
Limited for
setting up of a Special Economic Zone for harmaceuticals at Ahmedabad in the
State of
Gujarat was approved on the 21st June, 2006 by the Board of Approval constituted
by the
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry
(Department of Commerce) number 14/1/2004-EPZ, dated the 7th August, 2001 and
the
possession of the land for the said purposes was already taken over by Zydus
Infrastructure
Private Limited prior to 10th February, 2006;
AND WHEREAS, sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006
covers all the approvals accorded or recommendation made by the Board of
Approval
before the commencement of the said rules for setting up of Special Economic
Zone for
various sectors and makes further provisions for development of setting up of
such Special
Economic Zones;
AND WHEREAS, the Central Government with a view to give continuity to the said
proposal of Zydus Infrastructure Private Limited considers it necessary that the
recommendation given by the Board of Approval be notified in terms of the
Special
Economic Zones Rules, 2006;
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the
Special
Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) read with rule 8 of the Special Economic
Zones Rules,
2006 and after the grant of the letter of approval on 21st June, 2006 under sub
section (10) of
section 3 to M/s. Zydus Infrastructure Private Limited for setting up of a
Special Economic
Zone for pharmaceuticals, the Central Government, on being satisfied that the
requirements
under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related
requirements are fulfilled,
hereby notifies the total area 48.83 hectares at Village- Matoda, Sari and
Chachanvadi Vasna
on National Highway 8-A, Taluk- Sanand, District- Ahmedabad in the State of
Gujarat
comprising of the survey number and area, as Special Economic Zone, namely:-
