NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Bosch(up 4.09 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.83 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 1.29 per cent), MRF(up 0.92 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(up 0.61 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 4.27 per cent), Tata Motors(down 2.12 per cent), TIINDIA(down 1.39 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.9 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.4 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 19.0 points at 16240.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 109.94 points at 54208.53.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Indian Oil Corp. and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
