India offers new export opportunities |
The Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Edgar Vasquez, said that India, being the world leader in commercial services, provides Peru a great deal of opportunities for food exports.
He highlighted the presence of franchises like Bembos and the industrial group Aje in the country.
“For the National Strategic Plan 2025, the expansion of these types of franchises across international markets will double in the next 10 years,” announced Vasquez.
He stressed that India is extremely important for Peruvian companies, which most are characterized by being linked with gastronomy. “But we are also moving forward with beauty franchises (beauty salons) and educational institutions” he added.
He added that in the potential for new business in the restaurant industry is high.
“Indian food is world-renowned, like our own. I’m sure this will lead to new combinations that will include associated products [from both countires],” he predicted.
India’s ambassador in Peru, Sandeep Chakravorty, was excited about the opportunity to export oilseeds and legumes from our country.
“For example, there is high demand in my country for beans. We are talking with [the pertinent authorities], to expand the growing fields for this crop,” he revealed.
