Nod to Odisha export policy |
BHUBANESWAR: To boost export turnover in the state, the Cabinet on Monday unveiled Odisha Export Policy-2014.
The first-of-its-kind policy in the state targets to increase export turnover from Rs 12,246 during 2012-13 to Rs 38,714 crore in 10 years with an annual growth of 10%. "The policy aims at enhancing skills of exporters, help them compete in global market and facilitate adaption of cutting-edge technology," MSME secretary Panchanan Dash told the media.
"Besides export of mineral products, emphasis would be on handloom and handicrafts and agriculture products," he said.
The Odisha Small Industries Corporation Limited would supply raw material and fuel to the export units.
"The policy aims at creating more containerized facilities in ports of the state," Dash said. At presnt, most exporters depend on ports in Visakhapatnam or Haldia for exporting their products.
