NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.
Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.67 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 1.5 per cent), Laurus(up 1.47 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.09 per cent) and Pfizer(up 0.88 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 2.68 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 1.18 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.06 per cent), Granules India(down 0.99 per cent) and Sanofi India(down 0.73 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.4 per cent down at 12306.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 5.9 points at 17610.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 224.16 points at 59932.24.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.
