India bans import of seal skin and meat.

Taking a step towards ending animal abuse, India has banned the importation of seal skin and meat. Every year, many seals are killed or shot to death for their skin and fur. India’s bans on seal products follows the steps initiated by 28 EU member states and 36 countries.

The Humane Society International/India has been the only NGO documenting the cruel seal hunt in Canada and campaigning to ban seal skin imports into the country.
