NEW DELHI: Majority of the IT stocks were trading with gains during afternoon trade on Wednesday, remaining immune to the cautious market sentiment.
The Nifty IT index was trading 1.21 per cent up at 12,729 around 12:55 pm (IST) with all components in the green.
Shares of HCL TechnologiesNSE 3.64 % (up 2.35 per cent), Tata Consultancy ServicesNSE 3.34 % (up 1.41 per cent), InfosysNSE 2.89 % (up 1.40 per cent), Infibeam Incorporation (up 1.31 per cent) and KPIT Technologies (up 1.27 per cent) were the top gainers among the IT stocks.
Tata Elxsi (up 0.74 per cent), MindTreeNSE 1.28 % (up 0.63 per cent), WiproNSE 0.93 % (up 0.40 per cent), Oracle Financial Services SoftwareNSE 1.49 % (up 0.16 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 0.08 per cent) were also trading up.
Equity benchmarks were choppy amid mixed global cues. Selling in bank, oil, financial, pharma and auto majors weighed on key equity indices.
The NSE Nifty50 index was down 12 points at 10,390, while the BSE Sensex was up 7 points at 33,887.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Vedanta, HCL Technologies, Hindalco Industries, Eicher Motors and Sun Pharma were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.
However, HPCL, BPCL, Indian Oil Corporation, Adani Ports
SEZ and State Bank of India were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
