Hyderabad, Sept 9: Powergas Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the UK-based Gentec Energy PLC Ltd., inaugurated a manufacturing plant, its first production unit in India, at Sri City
SEZ on Thursday.
After the inauguration, Deepak Khilnani, Group Chairman, Powergas Energy Group, said with the African market on the growth path and with new opportunities in biomass-based gasifier plants, they had decided to invest in India by setting up an assembly facility in Sri City.
“Our focus is to deliver projects in time with defined quality and the group has a lot of trust in India’s ability in terms of quality products and human resources,” he said.
The plant, which was set up in the special economic zone here, will produce gasifier, assembly and power plant equipment including acoustic, air handling, heat exchangers, electric panels and light fabrication items.
Powergas Energy is known for project execution of natural gas-based power and gas compression applications. The company started trading operations in India in 2010 with an office in Chennai and branches in Mumbai and Delhi.
Gentec Energy PLC is a global engineering and procurement contractor known for turnkey energy solutions.
