Amendments in SION
Public Notice No. 50 dated 29th November
2002
Attention is invited to
Paragraph 2.4 of the Export and Import Policy 2002-2007, as amended and
Paragraphs 4.9 and 4.10 of the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 1, 2002-2007, as
amended and also to the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 2, 2002-2007, as amended
from time to time.
2.
In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Export and
Import Policy 2002-2007, as amended, the Director General of Foreign Trade
hereby makes the following amendments in the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 2,
2002-2007, as amended.
3.
In the statement of Standard Input Output Norms as contained in the
Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 2, 2002-2007, as amended, following amendment shall
be made: -

Note:
1. Content of sucrose by weight, in
dry state, in raw sugar must correspond to a polarimeter reading of less
than 99.5% but not less than 98.5%.
Note:
2. Export of White Sugar shall be
permitted only after import of Raw Sugar.

For other cases not covered under polarimeter range of 98.5% to 99.5% as
above, exporters may file applications under para 4.7 of the Exim Policy.
