Amendments to Notification No. 26 dated 28th February 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with
sub-section (1) of section 3A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the
Central Government, being satisfied that it necessary in the public interest so
to do, makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of
India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 26/99-Customs,
dated the 28th February, 1999, namely:
In the said notification, -
(i)
in the opening paragraph,-
(a) the words, brackets, figures
and letter �read with sub-section (1) of section 3A of the Customs Tariff Act,
1975 (51 of 1975)� shall be omitted;
(b) sub-paragraph (ii)
shall be omitted;
(ii) in the Table, the heading
�Special additional duty rate�, column (4) and the entry occurring against
S. No. 1 in that column shall be omitted;
(iii)
in paragraph 2, the words �and special additional duty�, wherever
they occur, shall be omitted;
(iv)
in paragraph 3, the words �and special additional duty�, shall be
omitted.
