Notification NO. 120/2007-CUSTOMS (N.T.)

New Delhi, the 13th December, 2007

G.S.R. (E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 75 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), sub-section (2) of section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and section 93A and sub-section (2) of section 94 of the Finance Act, 1994 (32 of 1994) read with rules 3 and 4 of the Customs, Central Excise Duties and Service Tax Drawback Rules, 1995, the Central Government, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No.68/2007-Customs (N.T.), dated the 16th July, 2007 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification), namely:-

In the said notification, in the Schedule,-

1. in chapter 44, for the entry in column 4 against tariff item 4420, the entry “3%” shall be substituted;
   
   
2. in Chapter 50,-
   1. for the entry in column 2 against tariff item 500701, the entry “silk fabrics containing 85% or more by weight of silk or of silk waste other than noil silk” shall be substituted;
      
      
   2. for the entry in column 2 against tariff item 500702, the entry “fabrics of noil silk” shall be substituted;
      
      
3. in Chapter 51, for tariff items 510701 and 510702 and the entries relating thereto, the following tariff items and the entries shall be substituted, namely:-
   
   

   510701	Containing 85% or more by weight of wool, grey – weaving quality	KG	8%	48	5%	30
   510702	Containing 85% or more by weight of wool, dyed – weaving quality	KG	9%	58	5.5%	35

   
   
4. in Chapter 55, for tariff items 550905 and 550906 and the entries relating thereto, the following tariff items and the entries shall be substituted, namely:-

5. in Chapter 57, for tariff item 570501 and the entries relating thereto, the following tariff item and the entries shall be substituted, namely:-

   Cotton Durries/Cotton Rugs (including Chindi Durries/Cotton Chenille Durries/Rag Rug Durries/ Printed Durries/Druggets/Mats and Mattings including Bath Mats, where cotton predominates by weight
