Belgium

Notification No. 12 dated 20th January 2003
WHEREAS
the designated authority vide notification published in Part I, Section 1 of the
Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated the 17th day of May, 2002, has
initiated review in the matter of continuation of anti-dumping duty on graphite
electrodes, originating in, or exported from, USA, Austria, France, Germany,
Italy, Spain, PR China and Belgium (hereinafter referred to as subject
countries), imposed vide notification No. 20/98-Customs dated the 5th
May, 1998, and had requested for extension of the anti-dumping duty pending the
results of the review investigations;
AND
WHEREAS on the basis of the aforesaid request of the designated authority, the
Central Government extended the anti-dumping duty on the said graphite
electrodes upto the 20th of January, 2003 vide Notification No. 109/
2002-Customs, dated the 10th October, 2002;
AND
WHEREAS the designated authority has requested for a further extension of the
anti-dumping duty pending the results of the review investigations;
Now,
therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1), (2), (5) and
(6) of section 9A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), read with rules
13 and 23 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of
Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules,
1995, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the
notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Finance
(Department of Revenue), No. 20/98-Customs dated the 5th May, 1998,
namely: -
In
the said notification, for the second paragraph and the entries relating
thereto, the following paragraph shall be substituted, namely: - 2. This notification shall be
in force up to and inclusive of the 20th day of April 2003,
unless it is revoked earlier.
