Customs Tariff Rules under Section 5 (Amendment) Rules, 2003

In
exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Customs
Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government, hereby makes the
following rules to amend all the rules made under the said sub-section and for
the time being in force on the date of commencement of the Customs Tariff
(Amendment) Ordinance, 2003 (1 of 2003), except as respects things done or
omitted to be done before such amendment, namely: -

These rules may be called Customs Tariff Rules under section 5
(Amendment) Rules, 2003.
(2)
They shall come into force on the date of the commencement of the Customs
Tariff (Amendment) Ordinance, 2003 (1 of 2003).

In each of the rules made under sub-section (1) of section 5 of the
Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), for any reference to the Chapter, heading
or sub-heading of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of
1975), as the case may be, relating to any goods or class of goods, wherever
referred to in the said rule, the corresponding reference to the Chapter,
heading and sub-heading of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975
(51 of 1975) as amended by the Customs Tariff (Amendment) Ordinance, 2003 (1 of
2003) shall be deemed to have been substituted.
