Export
of additional quantities of Onion by agencies
In
exercise of the powers conferred by Section
5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992)
read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export
& Import Policy 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto
31.03.2000), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the
Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto
31.03.2000).
The
following additions shall be made against the entry at ITC
(HS) Code No. 0703 (1) relating to onions of all varieties (other than
Bangalore Rose onion and Krishnapuram onions) under the column, �nature of
restriction� in the ITC (HS) Classification of Import and Export Items
1997-2002 incorporating amendments made upto 31st August 1998 in
Schedule 2, Table B in continuation of Notification No. 30 (RE-2000)/ 1997-2002
dated 7th August 2000.
�Further,
another 1 lakh metric tonnes of onions is allowed for export through the
following agencies as indicated below: -
NAFED
50000 M. Tonnes
MSAMB
20000 M. Tonnes
GAIC
15000 M. Tonnes
AP
MARKFED 5000 M. Tonnes
STCL
5000 M. Tonnes
NCCF
5000 M. Tonnes
These
agencies shall export directly or through the registered exporters on the same
terms and conditions as laid down in earlier notification no. 16 (RE-2000)/
1997-2002 dated 17th May 2000.
The
quantity of onions released shall be exported before 30th November
2000.
