Export of Brown Sea Weeds & Agarophytes
Policy Circular No. 22 dated 9th October 1997
Attention is invited to the entry at SI. No.4 of Schedule 2 appendix 1 of the book titled "ITC Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997-2002" on the above-mentioned subject.
2. It has been decided to release a ceiling of 200 MTs of Brown Sea Weeds & Agaropl excluding G-edulis of Tamil Nadu Coast Origin in processed form for export during the licensing year 1997 -98 subject to production of a certificate of Pre- shipment Inspection before actual ex form the Regional and Sub-regional offices of Marine Products Export Development Authority
3. The ceiling will be placed at the disposal of Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, and Chennai as under: Brown Sea Seeds and Agarophytes excluding G-edulis of Tamil Nadu Coast Origin in processed from (in MT).

4. The intending exporters may approach the above authorities for grant of Export Licence. The ceiling will be distributed on a first come first basis.
5. As soon as the ceiling is exhausted. The fact will be reported by the concerned port off' the Ministry of Commerce EP (MP Section) with a copy to Director of Statistics of the office Director General of Foreign Trade. The port offices may suitably inform the Trade with a copy office for record.
6. A quarterly report indicating the details of Shipment allowed, name of the exporter, quantity.
FOB value and destination may please be furnished by the concerned port offices direct Ministry of Commerce, EP (MP) Section. A copy of the report may also be sent to this office.
