Subject: Export of Cut & Polished Diamonds for Certification/ Grading
&Re-import
S.O (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade
(Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, as amended, read with paragraph 1.3 of the
Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014, the Central Government hereby amends paragraph
4A.2.1 in Chapter 4 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-2014 (RE 2013).
2. Under para 4A.2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy dealing with “Export of Cut
& Polished Diamonds for Certification/Grading & Re- import” following two
additional authorized laboratories for certification/ grading of diamonds of
0.25 carat and above are added after Serial No. (xv):
(xvi) International Gemological Institute (IGI) – Antwerp, Belgium;
(xvii) International Gemological Institute (IGI) – Hong Kong.
3. Effect of the Notification:
To the existing authorised laboratories, two additional laboratories are
added for purpose of certification/grading of diamonds of 0.25 carats & above.
