Notification No. 34 dated 12^th January 1998

Attention is invited to Schedule 2 Appendix 2 of the book titled "ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import items 1997-2002" relating to export of plants, plant portions and their derivatives and extracts obtained from the wild and the Notification No. 15/ 1997-2002 dated 28^th August, 1997 whereby the export of value added herbal formulations made out of 17 species of plant, obtained from the wild, was allowed for a period of 90 days from the date of issue of Notification in accordance with the Export policy as prevailing prior to 25^th March, 1996.

2.     In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5 of the Foreign Trade Development & Regulation Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with Paragraph 4.1 of the Export and Import policy 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the "ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and import items 1997-2002":

Export of value added herbal formulations made out of 17 species of plants appearing in the Schedule 2 Appendix 2 of the book titled "ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import items 1997-2002" and as reproduced in Annexure to this Notification shall be allow in accordance with the Export Policy prevailing prior to 25^th March, 1996 for a period upto 31^st March, 1998 subject to usual conditions and CITES regulations."
