Sub: Export of Stone Aggregate and River Sand to Maldives for the year 2008-2009

1. S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 and section 3(2) of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy – 2004-09, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends Schedule – 2 (Export Policy) of the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09 :-
2. In Chapter 25, the following shall be added after export licensing Note (d) regarding export to Maldives :-
   
   (e) For the financial year 2008–09 (on annual basis)
   Stone Aggregate : 5,26,500 MTs
   River Sand : 5,85,000 MTs
   
3.  For the export of above quantity of River Sand, Chemicals and Allied Products Export Promotion Council (CAPEXIL) shall ensure that the suppliers/extractors have obtained appropriate clearances and the mining of the said sand is not undertaken in the Coastal Regulation Zone Area, which is prohibited under the Coastal Regulation Zone Notification.
