Circular No. 87 dated 2nd November 2000
I am directed to invite your attention to the
Board's Circular No. 72/ 2000-Cus, dated 31.8-2000 on the above-mentioned
subject. It has been brought to the notice of the Board by some of the
Commissionerate that the above said Circular is silent about the EHTP
(Electronic Hardware Technology Park)/ STP (Software Technology Park) units.
2. The matter has
been considered by the Board. It is noted that EHTP/ STP schemes are nothing but
sector specific EOU schemes. Therefore, the instructions issued vide Circular
No. 72/ 2000-Cus, dated 31.8.2000 shall apply mutatis mutandis, to STP/ EHTP
units treating such units as EOU units only.

The Board's Circular No. 72/ 2000-Cus, dated 31.8.2000 stands modified to
the above extent.
4.
Difficulties, if any, faced in the implementation of the instructions,
may be brought to notice of the Board at an early date.
