Procedures for export of certified organic products
Public Notice No. 19 dated 11th June 2001 (As amended by Public Notice no. 25 dated 2nd July 2001)
In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraphs 4.11 and 11.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31-03-2001), the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby lays down following procedures for export of �certified organic products�:
An agricultural product will be allowed to be exported as �Organic Product� only if it is produced, processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by a certifying agency duly accredited by one of the following Accreditation Agencies:
(i) Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)
(ii) Coffee Board
(iii) Spices Board
(iv) Tea Board
2. This will be effective from 1st October 2001.
