Notification No. 8/2012 - Customs
New Delhi, the 9th March, 2012
G.S.R. (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being
satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the
following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in
the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue),
No. 3/89-Customs, dated the 9th
January, 1989, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II,
Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 12 (E), dated the 9th January,
1989, namely:-
In the said notification,-
- in condition (2), in the proviso, in clause (ii), for the word “fuels”,
the words “fuels other than aviation turbine fuel consumed during aero show”
shall be substituted;
- after paragraph 2, the following paragraph shall be inserted,-
“3. Notwithstanding anything contained in the preceding paragraphs, the
exemption contained in this notification shall be available to aviation turbine
fuel contained as remnant fuel in the aircraft when they arrive from outside
India and which are consumed during an aero show.”;
- in Schedule II, after serial number 5 and the entries relating thereto,
the following serial number and entries shall be inserted, namely:-
“6. Aero show organised by the Central Government.”

Note. - The principal notification No.3/1989-Customs, dated the 9th January,
1989 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i), vide G.S.R. 12 (E), dated the 9th January, 1989 and was last
amended vide notification No.133/1999-Customs, dated the 27th December, 1999
which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (i) vide number G.S.R. 823 (E), dated 27th December, 1999.
