Notification No. 56/2017 – Customs
New Delhi, the 30th June, 2017
G.S.R. (E).- WHEREAS the Central Government on being satisfied that the
import duty leviable on articles and parts thereof, of goods, falling under
headings 8443 and 8517 respectively of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff
Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), should be increased and that circumstances exist which
render it necessary to take immediate action.
NOW, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 8A of the said Customs Tariff Act, the Central Government, hereby
directs that the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, shall be amended
in the following manner, namely:-
In the First Schedule to the said Customs Tariff Act, in Section XVI, -
(i) in Chapter 84, against tariff items 8443 32 90, 8443 99 51, 8443 99 52,
8443 99 53; and
(ii) in Chapter 85, against tariff items 8517 12 10, 8517 12 90, 8517 61 00,
8517 70 90,
for the entry in column (4), the entry "10%" shall be substituted.
2. This notification shall come into force with effect from the 1st day of
July, 2017.
