NOTIFICATION
S.O. 547 - (E).- WHEREAS, the proposal of M/s. Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited for
setting up of a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Pharmaceuticals at
Plot
No.A-41, Focal Point, Phase-VIII A, Mohali in the State of Punjab was considered
on
7th October, 2005 by the Board of Approval constituted by the notification of
the
Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of
Commerce) number 14/1/2001-EPZ, dated the 7th August, 2001 and approval of the
Central Government was conveyed on 31st October, 2005;
AND WHEREAS the possession of the plot of land for the said purposes
was already taken over by M/s. Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited on 15th June, 1995,
and
the conditions of the requirement of the minimum area as per the provisions of
subrule
(3) of rule 5 and Annexure II of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 are
fulfilled;
AND WHEREAS, the Central Government, on being satisfied that the
requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other
related
requirements are fulfilled, has granted the letter of approval under sub-section
(10) of
section 3 to M/s Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited on 19th June, 2006 for setting up
sector
specific Special Economic Zone for pharmaceuticals at the aforestated plot of
land in
Mohali;
Now therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) read with rule 8
of the
Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies the
area
of 32.374 hectares at Plot No.A-41, Focal Point, Phase-VIII A, Mohali in the
State of
Punjab, as Special Economic Zone.
